The Designated Person Ashore (DPA) is the direct link between the ship and the highest level of management, as the ISM Code (Section 4) requires. Any seafarer may contact the DPA, and reports are handled in confidence.
Statutory ISM Code Section 4 oversight, direct Master-to-Management escalation protocol, confidential safety reporting, and emergency response coordination.
